This is just a picture of designer Piet Hein Eek in his studio in Eindhoven. I have always had a crush for his work and creative vision. Only now I guess his work is better understood I mean by a larger audience extending beyond the connoisseurs and experts. It is important to believe in what you do and to stick to one’s gut when it comes to design and the arts, and especially when very specific and one of a kind crafmanship is attached to your work. Piet Hein Eek recently showed a series of pieces born out of unused handblown glass parts from the archives and storage of French house Veronese. These beauties were on view in Paris as the designer was invited by Merci concept store.
